Hoivakoti Finlandia Nursing Home

We take pride in putting Residents first, and it shows. Hoivakoti Finlandia Nursing Home features 112 Long-Term Care beds in 72 rooms designed in four home areas and located on the grounds of Finlandia Village. The home boasts natural wood finishes, abundant outdoor/natural lighting and is designed to meet the needs of all Residents providing many on-site amenities. Funding is provided by the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care. Registered Nursing (RN) staffing is available 24 hours per day. Residents have access to other home areas and common areas and are encouraged to move freely indoors and in the outdoor garden courtyards.

Air conditioning is available in all 72 rooms. The air conditioning upgrade project for the Hoivakoti Finlandia Nursing Home is completed as of July 8th, 2022.

Residents’ rights, autonomy and decision-making are fully supported at Finlandia Village.
The Residents’ Bill of Rights is posted on site in both English and French easily accessible to Residents / Representatives.
A copy of the Bill of Rights is provided to Residents/Representatives on admission and provided in French upon request.

Emergency Plan / Infection Control Hoivakoti Finlandia Nursing Home


The Hoivakoti Finlandia Nursing Home (Block C) is one of four main buildings located on the campus at Finlandia Village.

The Emergency plan identifies various types of emergencies that may affect Finlandia Village. For the purposes of this plan, an emergency is defined as any situation or threat of any situation requiring any of the following; complete or partial evacuation, relocation of Residents, acceptance of additional Residents and/or other person or expansion of services relating to a situation external to Finlandia Village, isolation or quarantine or any situation compromising the health and well-being of a Resident. It provides an effective, coordinated and appropriate plan of action for all levels of staff, Residents and visitors during an emergency with effective organization accountability and communication strategies to respond effectively to any emergency that may arise.
